The Architect is shown to use proper formalities, with little to no emotion. He uses very complex words and speaks affluently to emphasize his infinite intelligence.
The Architect is the first Program made by the Machines to create the Matrix. His first Matrix was designed as a paradise but it resulted in failure. He knew that human beings are imperfect, so he redesigned it to more accurately reflect "the varying grotesqueries of your nature". The second prototype failed as well. The Architect met another program which was known to investigate certain aspects of the human psyche. The Oracle believed that ninety-nine percent of all people accept the Matrix as long as they were given a choice. The remainder of people resulted in the creation of the One. The One is supposed to meet the Architect every century and reboot the Source before humanity is extinguished. It continued on for four more cycles.
Even though the Architect is not seen, his monitors were seen overlooking Thomas Anderson talking to Agent Smith.
The Matrix ReloadedEdit
The Architect finally sees the sixth One, Neo. He noticed that Neo has quicker thinking compared to the previous five Ones. The Architect knows that Neo loves Trinity and that Neo does not comply with the Architect's instructions. Neo decides to go to the door to his left to leave humanity behind. The Architect warns Neo that hope is the quintessential human delusion and tells Neo that they won't meet again.
The Matrix RevolutionsEdit
After Neo made peace and sacrificed himself, the Architect saw the Oracle again and doubted that Neo's peace offering will not last long.
- Sean Connery was originally going to play the Architect but he did not get the concept.
